Durham city: make the historic setting central
Choose Durham when the city itself is the reason to come. Hotel Indigo on Old Elvet provides a city address for a stay built around the cathedral area, river and an evening meal. Book a specific view category if that matters; a Durham hotel does not automatically look onto the cathedral.

Before you choose: Do not book Park Head as a market-place hotel. Courtyard rooms span two floors, and the precise room and town journey need checking, particularly after an evening event.
