Malmaison faces the station and makes the arrival and departure part of the decision especially straightforward. It suits a short stay where you want to leave luggage arrangements with the hotel and spend the available day in Reading. The hotel has its own dining option, but the room position matters as much as the convenient address.

Good for: A short town break arriving by train.

Before you choose: Ask about street-facing rooms, stairs or lifts and luggage storage. Being opposite the station is not a promise that every approach is step-free.

The Forbury for the historic part of town

The Roseate gives an alternative beside the Forbury area, with the Abbey Quarter a natural focus for the visit. Its historic main building and contemporary House are different accommodation choices. Decide which atmosphere and layout you want before choosing a room from photographs.

Before you choose: Confirm the building and category. Limited paid hotel parking is offered on a first-come basis, so have a practical alternative.
