BEFORE YOU CHOOSE
The National Trust describes more than 400 steps across the hillside garden, plus gradients and narrow tunnels. There is a partial accessible route, but it does not reach every themed area; consult the access map before travelling.
The China Garden, Egyptian Court, Himalayan glen and stumpery are different designed scenes. The Trust’s garden trail provides a coherent route through them; you can choose fewer sections for a shorter visit.
Use the Grange Road entrance off the A527 in Biddulph. The National Trust lists visitor parking there; do not direct a driver to the similarly named historic house as a separate hotel destination.
The Trust lists Congleton station as about two and a half miles away and a weekday/Saturday bus to Grange Road. Check the current service and return, especially for Sundays.
The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery is a separate Stoke-on-Trent visit. Its galleries have had phased reopening work, so check the museum’s current visitor notice before choosing a specific collection as the reason for a trip.
