The house opens Saturday to Thursday during the published season, so Friday is a gardens-and-park option rather than an interiors day. Put the house on the correct day before booking a short stay.
Burghley describes Stamford station as about half a mile from the parkland entrance but 1.5 miles from the house. The gate is not the end of the journey, particularly with luggage or young children.
Use the Main Visitor Entrance from Barnack Road and PE9 3JU, following the official directions. The estate warns that satnavs can route cars onto park roads that are not open to visitors.
Delaine services stop opposite the main visitor entrance on Barnack Road. There is still roughly 600 metres to the house entrance; check the service for your chosen day.
