The National Trust describes its Ilam Park to Dovedale stepping-stones trail as 1.5 miles and about 40 minutes one way. It crosses sloping fields and ends at the stones, so allow for the return rather than reading that time as a complete loop.

The published Ilam-to-Dovedale trail is not suitable for prams or pushchairs. Ilam Park has separate, more accessible paths and an access statement, but that does not make the whole valley route step-free.
