From Porthmadog, choose Mountain Spirit for Blaenau Ffestiniog or Woodland Wanderer for Tan-y-Bwlch. From Caernarfon, use Gelert Explorer for the mountain approach and village interval. These are alternatives, not three journeys to fit into one day.
Leave the last morning for a local breakfast and a short harbour or town walk in the base you chose. Keep luggage arrangements with the hotel rather than adding another railway leg just to fill the morning.
Less time? For a shorter break from Porthmadog, choose Woodland Wanderer instead of a full-line trip. From Caernarfon, retain the booked journey and drop any separate departure outing.
