Follow the official approach from the car park and spend time among the rock stacks and cove views. Keep any beach exploration within the conditions and return route that day allows.
A local-base departure can include the surfaced viewpoints at Lizard Point. From Falmouth, retain a harbour breakfast and short waterfront stroll, giving the trip a different ending from another cove descent.
Less time? Keep the overnight and one Kynance visit. Choose either Lizard Point or Falmouth harbour time according to the base, rather than trying to add both to a short departure day.
BEFORE YOU CHOOSE
No. The National Trust states there is no vehicle access to the cove. From its car park the walk takes around ten minutes, is steep in places and includes beach steps; allow more effort for the climb back.
The low-tide caves and islands are part of Kynance's appeal, but the Trust warns that visitors can be cut off. Plan the visit against current tide information and leave an ample return margin rather than following others onto exposed sand.
During peak periods the Trust can close access from the A3083. It advises arriving early and describes seasonal private parking around The Lizard with a much longer walk, so a nearby room is useful but does not reserve a parking space.
A council-enforced restriction applies from 1 July to 31 August between 10am and 6pm. Check the current beach rules for your date, separately from the pet policy of the room you book.
Kynance Cove Cafe is described as open year-round, weather permitting. Carry water and a snack for the walk and confirm its actual opening if you are relying on it for lunch in poor weather.
