From East Grinstead, use the town council’s High Street circular route or a shorter look at its timber-framed buildings. If based in Haywards Heath, make the evening local and leave the East Grinstead trip for tomorrow.
Tour the rooms for Webb’s architecture and Morris textiles, then walk Margaret Beale’s garden. The kitchen-garden and terrace views give the second half of the day a different focus from the interiors.
Return to East Grinstead’s High Street or station area before departure. A second remote house would crowd a two-night design break; keep the last morning short.

No. The Trust says Metrobus 84 stops at the end of the drive, with a further half-mile walk to the entrance. That changes the plan for anyone who finds long approaches difficult.
Margaret Beale developed its 12 acres with Arts and Crafts principles in mind. Give it time after the rooms rather than treating it as a decorative exit.
The Trust lists narrow corridors in the house and slopes and steps in partly accessible grounds, with mobility parking near the entrance. Use its 2026 access statement for the route you need.
The permanent Webb, Morris and Beale features carry the visit. Exhibitions and demonstrations change by date, so treat a current event as an addition only after confirming its run.
