Follow the brown signs, then walk from reception to the house. See the chapel and Oak Gallery, pause at the lake and take the signed woodland circuit if conditions suit.

Less time? For a single night, focus on The Vyne house and lake; leave the woodland circuit or second-town outing for a longer break.
BEFORE YOU CHOOSE
The Trust says Bramley station is around two-and-a-half miles away and the Vyne road has no footpaths. Basingstoke station has a taxi rank; arrange the final leg there instead.
The Trust says satnav will not lead to the main car park. Follow the brown signs from the roads north of Basingstoke and use the Morgaston Road entrance.
The Trust describes about a third of a mile from visitor reception to the house. Build that walk into your arrival, especially if you plan the woodland route too.
The Trust’s circular Morgaston Woods route is about 1.4 miles. Paths are maintained but roots and mud can affect footing after wet weather.
The Trust highlights a pre-Reformation chapel with stained glass, the Tudor Oak Gallery and later Chute family rooms. It lists a house closure for filming on 7 October 2026 and winter variations, so confirm the date before travelling.
