BEFORE YOU CHOOSE
The Central Hall was ravaged by fire about 200 years ago and survives as an architectural space. The West Wing has presented family stories and collections, so do not expect every room to resemble an intact furnished mansion.
The National Trust says Seaton Delaval station on the Northumberland Line links with the X7 bus route. The station is not the hall entrance, so use the current bus connection or arrange the last leg before travel.
The National Trust publishes a Holywell and Sluice circular walk from the hall that reaches Sluice Harbour. It is a proper estate-and-coast walk, not a short wander immediately behind the building.
Use the visitor car park reached through the main gates on the A190 at Seaton Sluice. The National Trust says it is free; note its locking time on the day before extending your walk beyond the grounds.
